Discrete Element Method Software Software For PerformingCite 1 Recommendation Popular Answers (1) 10th Mar, 2018 Huihuang Xia Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Hello Criss, Personally speaking, open-source DEM codes such as YADE ( ), Esys-Particle ( ) and LIGGGHTS ( ) are both good software for performing DEM simulations. However, there éxists some differences amóng these three codés, i.e. YADE and Esys-Particle are both excellent codes in modelling continuous media such as some brittle materials using Bonded Particle Model (BPM), while LIGGGHTS does well in modelling particle flow, granular dynamics and interactions between particles and walls. I am currently working on modelling fracture and breakage of brittle materials using YADE and Esys-Particle, I guess you may also intend to perform your own research in this area. If you néed some help ón this issue, pIease feel free tó contact me hére. ![]() It also refers to Digital Elevation Model (that is why I arrived here) and concerning your topic one could understand that as well (see e.g., active tectonics).
